An adventurous attitude!
We offer day camp for children ages 8-17.
Age groups are split based on participation.
We provide all of the equipment necessary for all of our activities including life vests, paddles, boats, and tubes.
All of our campers are encouraged to try our activities and should expect to spend roughly half the time or more in water activities up to but not limited to kayaking and tubing. We take every precaution by ensuring all campers have personal floatation devices, are monitored at all times, and are taught the necessary skills to stay safe while out on the water. We provide basic training to float in a life jacket for non-swimmers. The practice area of the Cape Fear is also typically shallow and makes for a particularly good place for new learners or anyone who may be nervous about entering the water!
Rain does not necessarily interfere with any of our activities. If it rains enough to make the river unsafe or if rain develops into a thunderstorm, we have other activities to keep our campers entertained and safe, while making the best of nature’s temperament. If the forecast calls for rain, we do encourage campers to bring appropriate clothing.
Campers will typically spend half of their day learning useful skills like kayaking, building fires, or first aid. The other half doing water activities such as kayaking or tubing with lunch in the middle. Based on weather and other potential factors, we may move activities around for the safety of campers but generally, you can expect that schedule.
We offer sibling and multi-session discounts! We also offer group rates! Check out our rates at our registration portal.
Direct parent/guardian/organization to our website or call us at 910.242.3800 for more information! We would love to work with anyone interested in helping children experience all that we have to offer!
