Cape Fear River Adventures – canoe and kayak outfitter is taking applications for seasonal part-time and full-time assistants for summer months to help with daily operations. We all work as one team and have a great time doing it! Our employees enjoy staying busy and serving customers. We do team river trips, cookouts, and at the end of the summer we take an employee rafting/camping trip where we hit some big waters! But let’s be honest… you will be tired, sweaty, muddy, wet, serving thousands of customers, running around all day long in a NC summer heatwave while carrying heavy boats and muddy tubes and of course we ask you to smile while doing all of that! If you are enthusiastic, enjoy being outside, and like working hard this job might be for you!
Seasonal Availability:
Cape Fear River Adventures operates from March through the end of October. Our “busy season” is between Memorial Day and Labor Day, when we experience peak customer volume. While March–May and September–October tends to be slower, all employees must be available to work throughout the entire season of operations (March – October), as staffing needs vary with weather conditions and customer demand.

Campers are taught basic life-saving techniques, kayaking, survival skills, and general outdoors experience. Counselors supervise campers aged 8-15. As a day camp, hours are expected to work from 7:30-5:00 each weekday from early June until mid-August, with some special weekend events throughout the summer. We work closely with our parent company, Cape Fear River Adventures to provide kids with a positive outdoor experience. Counselors can be expected to be hot, sweaty, and dirty as they spend each day almost entirely outdoors, engaged in a variety of activities with campers. Enthusiasm and positivity in these conditions are a must!
