You can’t beat our beautiful Cape Fear River views, with kayaking and river tubing activities, walkable town parks, and hiking or mountain biking at nearby Raven Rock State Park. The Riverside Restaurant & Bar (open Tuesday-Sunday) right next door, community fire pit and grill, and easy access to amenities around town make this a truly exceptional experience! All this is just a short drive away from Raleigh, Fayetteville, Durham, and their surrounding areas. We’re located in the charming small town of Lillington, North Carolina.

Each wagon has a comfy King size bed, bunk bed with 2 twin mattresses, clean linens and towels provided, table, fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Remote-controlled A/C unit, heat, Wi-Fi access, community fire pit and patio, board games, Blackstone flattop propane grill, and Cape Fear River views for every stay! ~Wagon maximum occupancy is 4 people
Each wagon is on the banks of Cape Fear River, and it has a King-sized bed and a bunk bed with 2 twin mattresses, electricity, remote-controlled air conditioning and heating unit! In addition, you’ll find fast WiFi access, Keurig coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in each wagon.
Each bed is fitted with clean, fresh linens and we provide cozy, soft bath towels for our guests to use during their stay with us. Clean community bathhouse with toilets, sinks, and showers is located in a standalone building on the property a couple of hundred feet away from the wagons, and it’s reserved just for our wagon-glamping guests. Community firepit with beautiful custom-built stone seating area along with grilling area centrally located between the wagons. We have a community-use Blackstone flat-top style propane grill, complimentary for our guests’ use.

Glamping Cancellation & Refund Policy 14 days or more prior to the arrival will entitle you to a full refund of the money paid. Cancellations 13 to 7 days prior to the arrival will entitle you to a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the arrival will be cancelled and charged the full amount, without a refund.
*No cancellations due to weather or river conditions. Please refer to our Glamping Cancellation & Refund Policy (see above). We are unable to reschedule or cancel your glamping stay because of unfavorable weather or river conditions, even if Cape Fear River Adventures must reschedule an already booked river activity. Refunds will be processed only within The Cozy Heron’s regular Cancellation & Refund Policy. Wagons are completely weather-proof.
Self-Check-In: Self-check-in is available after 3:00 PM on the day you reserved. All efforts will be made to have your wagon cleaned and ready by your check-in time, but at times we cannot guarantee the exact time of occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances. Please do not arrive before the check-in time.
Self-Check-Out: 11:00 AM sharp. Check-out time must be met to allow cleaning to be completed for the next guest(s). Guests who occupy the property beyond 11:00 AM without prior approval will be charged a late check-out fee equivalent to $50.00 for each hour of occupancy beyond the checkout time.
We kindly ask that guests who check out before 11 AM send a message to their host so housekeeping can safely enter to begin cleaning.
Quiet Hours are from 10pm to 8am. Please be respectful of your fellow glamping neighbors!
Absolutely NO SMOKING inside or near wagons! Any signs of smoking inside a wagon or smoker-trash left on the premises will incur $250 fee in addition to any damage and cleaning fees.
Absolutely NO PETS! Presence of any pet will automatically forfeit the stay without a refund and incur $250 fee in addition to damage and cleaning fees.
Absolutely NO PARTYING on premises! Any partying or disruptive behavior towards other guests will result in forfeit of the stay without a refund and incur $250 fee in addition to any damage and cleaning fees.
Birthday celebrations, family reunions, holidays, graduations, you get an idea, those are terrific celebrations to have at Cozy Heron. We just ask to be respectful to others!
Important Information Regarding River Activities During Your Stay:
▪️ Check-in for glamping is after 3PM. Certain trips we offer may not be available after 3PM, such as: Lazy River Tubing, 10 Mile Challenge, and some “All Day” options. If you want to do your river trip BEFORE check-in, that is encouraged! Just be sure to choose the right activity time slot to meet your planning needs. Please keep in mind that early check-in is not available, even if you finish your river trip before check-in time.
▪️ Got a river trip booked on your day of check-out?: Personal items and luggage must be removed from your wagon and the glamping property before your river trip and placed in your vehicle. Cozy Heron bath house access after check-out is NOT possible but Cape Fear River Adventures has rustic changing rooms, porta-potties, and outdoor showers.
▪️After heavy rain, the Cape Fear River can rise to unsafe levels. When that happens, we’ll move your tubing or kayaking trip to our sister outpost, Endor Paddle Company on the Deep River near Sanford — just 30 miles away.
This switch is for river safety only and does not mean The Cozy Heron Glamping wagons are flooded or unsafe. It’s our way of keeping your adventure on track without cancelling your plans. 😊
*The Cozy Heron Glamping cancellation policy differs from the Cape Fear River Adventures river trip cancellation policy, so please keep that in mind.

Sounds can be heard through wagon’s canvas. Wagon’s canvases are not a good sound barrier. We are located IN the town limits of Lillington, near Highway 421. Sounds of traffic, fellow glampers, and river activities can be heard from the property and inside of wagons.
Quiet hours are 10pm – 8am.
It gets busy. We offer river activities services next to the glamping resort. It gets busy in the summertime, especially on weekends! While we have reserved the glamping area for glampers ONLY, please expect to have other people around you and around the property during your stay.
We utilize dynamic pricing. The nightly rates can and do change based on variety of factors. We try to keep the range to a minimum to be as fair as possible to all our guests! If the rate adjustment is made outside of the cancelation policy, we will adjust your rate upon request. Once you are within the cancelation policy time frame, we are not able to offer rate adjustments.
No cancellations due to weather or river conditions. Please refer to our Glamping Cancellation & Refund Policy (found under the Policies heading on this webpage). If your glamping reservation is less than 7 days away, we are unable to reschedule or cancel your stay with a refund because of unfavorable weather or river conditions, even if we must reschedule your river activity.
No group rates. We don’t offer group rates for glamping at this time.
My sister and I absolutely loovvvveeed our stay here this weekend despite the cold. You guys seem to have thought of every amenity a glamper would ever need. From the extra blankets and pillows, to the s’mores and fire poker and outside games, and necessities in the bathrooms like body wash and shampoo and conditioner, a glamper has no reason but to love this place! Despite being located by a busy road it felt isolated enough for a genuine camping experience. Even though we were the only glampers there during our stay the owners stopped by to clean and check in on us. Maybe next time we will go and take advantage of the kayaking and other river activities. 5 stars!
